Also known in some literature as Olga’s Peak (Štít Oľgy), this slender pyramid-shaped summit rises in the Mengusovská Valley, with its southern ridge separating the Hincova Basin from the Žabie Plesá Basin. The peak is clearly visible even from the lower parts of the valley.
From the summit, you’ll enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the Bašty Ridge dominated by Satan Peak, parts of the main Tatra ridge including Mengusovské peaks, Rysy, Vysoká, and many other majestic summits.
The hike begins at the Popradské Pleso stop of the Tatra Electric Railway (TEŽ). For convenience, we recommend using the shuttle service offered by the Mountain Hotel Popradské Pleso to get to the lake.
From the hotel, follow the blue-marked trail to Veľké Hincovo pleso (the largest alpine lake on the Slovak side of the Tatras). From there, you’ll leave the marked trail and ascend to Volovec Saddle, then follow the exposed ridge up to the summit. The descent leads into the Žabie Plesá Basin, where you’ll reconnect with the red-marked tourist trail, which loops you back to Popradské pleso.
This is a moderately difficult tour, suitable for fit and experienced hikers, especially since part of the route goes off marked trails.
